“ Update: Authentic italian restaurant. Its busy and everyone is enjoying themselves, so it a bit noisy but nice Service is excellant, 3 different servers all helping Now the food. Had the pollo da sandro last night. Tasty tender chicken with great flavor. Tonight started with a large very good caprese salad. Then a grilled seafood plate which was excellent! Salmon, monkfish, prawn, crevette and two others. Perfect freshness, perfectly cooked, perfectly flavored. ”

“ Quintessentially Italian. Not sure whether the accents were real, but the food certainly was. 3 courses later with a bottle of wine to boot i was stuffed, in a very good way! The setting was simple but effective with cafe style tables & chairs. There was a good selection of on the menu for all tastes. We got there for the early bird menu, even though it was mid week they were very busy. We were attended to swiftly and got a drink and viewed the menu while we waited for a table. Our order was taken and within a few minutes we were seated for the start of the meal. This was after the early bird time, however because we arrived prior they stood by the deal which was really good. We were not rushed out and over 2 & half hours later we stumbled out feeling very european. If you are nearby or passing, worth a quick stop for some very good food. ”

“ I have been going to Da Sandro for over 25 years - the last 14 less frequently so only because I now live in the USA. It has a great ambience, a huge menu with fresh specials, great service and cooking. This is quite simply the best of dozens if not hundreds of Italian restaurants I have visited - including in Italy and New York. When I land at Manchester or Gatwick I cannot wait to get here and enjoy my favorite dining experience anywhere. ”

“ This is our favourite restuarant in west yorkshire so far, the food really does speak for itself- you cant book in advance unfortunalty, you have to go there and ask to be put on a waiting list then spend time and money in the bar before hand- (good business plan to be fair)- but their estimated waiting times are pretty accurate. Once seated, the serivce it good, and the food fantastic- their version of moules marinere will take some beating. I cant give it 5 stars becuase, im saving that score for a restaurant that does all this and makes me feel like a valued customer, the whole get fed when we say just doesnt do it for me, makes the restaurant appear arrogant. I prefer to book my table at a time specified by me so I can plan the rest of my evening, afterall I am the one paying the money. ”

“ Really lovely Italian restaurant with lots of atmosphere. There is a seating area as you enter the restaurant, when busy, this is where you wait for your table. You then walk through to the main seating area, which is very nicely decorated, with an open space to the cooking area. There is a large menu, with specials on the board as well. A great place to go with children, as they have plenty of highchairs and seem to love kids. They will happliy assist you in any way required. There is a cheaper dinnertime menu. I always like the lasagne, which is rich and super filling. All food is fresh with plenty of flavour. Nice toilet facilities with baby changing. Great place to relax, I have never felt rushed here. In fact, its a bit like being on holiday! I wish! Overall, worth a visit, prices are average, with main courses around the £10 mark, lunch cheaper. ”

“ This restaurant is situated just off the Ainley top roundabout as you head towards Huddersfield, with a large car park you should be able to find a space quite easily. It's a first come first served basis here as they don't do reservations but you wait in the bar area till you are seated. I think the seating are lets the place down, it's very open and has a canteen feel to it, very loud and echo-y so not the place for a romantic meal for too! Having said that the food is excellent and I was very impressed with the standard of my meal (the beef stroganoff is a great choice), the staff were very attentive and the food arrived quickly. Overall a nice Italian restaurant but it would benefit from being a bit more intimate. ”

“ The best restaurant in Huddersfield.Can't book but have a comfortable lounge for drinks prior to ordering and looking at the huge daily specials board.Very relaxed atmosphere and you don't have to be a huge italian food fan to enjoy this restaurant.Very big selection of fish.Home baked pizzas but accompanying experts don't rate these.Overall fantastic if preicey. ”
